Maria Del Conte, a 26-year-old banker has made a decision: she will take her life on her 27th birthday. Although professionally ambitious and successful, her troubled childhood and unhappy love life have fuelled her detached bid for suicide. She meets Michael Scott, a film producer who is intrigued by Maria and her glacial attitude. As their relationship develops, Michael discovers the reasons behind Maria’s fatalistic birthday plan.
